In the mid 1970s to early 1980s, Hans Huyer worked as a logger in the Pacific Northwest. The logging companies would clear-cut the forest, but were typically only interested in pine, fir and cedar that could be cut into dimensional lumber.
For over a decade, Hans milled on sight, carried out and stored fallen maple trees that were left to rot. Some 40 years later, Gershom Huyer (Hans’ son) has now teamed up with his mother, Selby and partner, Amy to bring life back to the beautiful wood Hans worked so hard to collect.
The team of three has organized the wood on their new property in Washoe Valley, NV and are excited to provide you with one-of-a-kind pieces for your woodworking projects.
